Kyle Shannon
Denver, CO (NYC is where my heart is.)
Kyle Shannon is a creative technologist, storyteller, and community builder working at the intersection of emerging technology and human expression. Over the past three decades, his career has consistently lived one step ahead of major technology waves—from the early commercial web to today’s generative AI revolution.
In the mid-1990s, Kyle founded Urban Desires, one of the first online art and culture magazines, and helped convene early internet pioneers through the World Wide Web Artists Consortium (WWWAC) in New York City, while co-founding and serving as Chief Creative Officer at Agency.com well before the first dot-com boom. ACOM grew rapidly during this period, building early web sites for global brands including British Airways, Coca-Cola, and Nike's first athlete sites, featuring Michael Jordan (Jumpman23) and Ronaldo.
Today, Kyle is Co-Founder and CEO of Storyvine, an automated video storytelling platform that enables organizations—particularly in healthcare and regulated industries—to scale authentic, compliant human stories. His work has long focused on turning everyday experts into powerful communicators through thoughtfully designed technology.
He is also Co-Founder of The AI Salon, a rapidly growing community dedicated to helping individuals and organizations build practical AI readiness. Through national convenings—including three policy and innovation fly-ins in Washington, DC—the AI Salon brings together technologists, business leaders, educators, and policymakers to explore human-centered approaches to AI adoption.
Kyle hosts the AI Learning Lab, a nightly livestream followed by tens of thousands of practitioners, where he explores the evolving relationship between humans and intelligent systems. Across his work, he advocates for a mindset he calls AI Readiness: Play First, Create Excellence, and Generously Lead.
At his core, Kyle is less interested in technology for its own sake and more focused on what happens when powerful tools meet human curiosity, creativity, and intent.
