Gene Kwak is the author of Go Home, Ricky!, which received a starred review in Publishers Weekly and was a Rumpus Book Club selection. He is also the winner of the 2022 Poets and Writers Maureen Egen WEX Award. His work has received support from the Tin House Workshop, the Yale Writers' Workshop, the Sewanee Writers' Conference, and the Jentel Artist Residency. He is a co-founder of Tiger Balm, a Korean American writer’s collective, with Joseph Han and he currently lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Oklahoma State University.
