Cross Country is the life-long nomer of Andrew Chumich’s exploration of the blurred line between roots country and the modern iteration of emo. He straddles grief, self-reflection, and joy, moving from basement blues to high desert hopes.
Preferring simplicity in melody and lyric over flair and self-indulgence, he has performed alongside hard rock acts, jazz musicians, pop singers, and poets, demonstrating the ineffable flexibility inherent in the roots of American music.
Their modern debut in 2023, Other Side Of The Blues, is a meditative wave goodbye to nostalgia. With a rotating line-up of notable local musicians and a constant reach for collaboration, they strive to bring together different roots to grow a modern musical community within the Boise music scene.
