TOODY COLE AND HER BAND
ATTENTION EVERYONE! A veteran of the Portland scene and garage rock icon is headed direct from Clackamas, Oregon to Treefort. Toody Cole, co-founder and driving force of the iconic band Dead Moon, presents Toody Cole & Her Band, centering on one of the most influential figures in American DIY rock & roll. Toody Cole, alongside her husband and creative partner Fred Cole, helped forge a raw, uncompromising sound that formed a living bridge between original ’60s American garage rock and later punk, garage, and early grunge movements. Her punchy, melodic bass playing and unmistakable vocal presence were essential to Dead Moon’s power-trio dynamic, anchoring a fiercely independent body of work that continues to resonate across generations.
Following the passing of drummer Andrew Loomis and Fred Cole,Toody carries the Dead Moon songbook forward with Kelly Haliburton (drums) her longtime bandmate from Pierced Arrows, and Christopher March (guitar) of Jenny Don’t & The Spurs. Together, Toody Cole & Her Band honor the grit, emotional weight, and self-reliant spirit of Dead Moon’s catalog, delivering these songs with renewed urgency and reverence while preserving one of American rock & roll’s most enduring DIY legacies. Toody is 76 years old and still shreddin’ — don’t miss this!
BUILT TO SPILL
Honestly, I feel like I don’t even need to write anything about BTS at this point, other than a sincere apology for the many of you who emailed us upset that they had yet to make an appearance on the lineup for this year. I apologize for stringing you along, and hope you find it in your hearts to forgive us.
ICYMI, Built to Spill was formed in 1992 in beautiful Boise, ID by guitarist/vocalist Doug Martsch. They’re an indie rock institution who never fail to put on a rockin’ performance. Known as well for their rotating line up, Built to Spill currently counts with Melanie Radford on bass and Teresa Esguerra on drums.
You know them, you love them, they’re coming back to celebrate year 14 of Treefort Music Fest. See you at their set 😉
VENUS & THE FLYTRAPS
Venus & the Flytraps likes to think of themselves as the indie-pop scene’s annoying little sister. Idk I think they’re cooler than that, but you’re just gonna have to come see for yourself. Hailing from Nashville TN, they create playful and sharp indie rock about love (or the lack of it), mommy issues, and the perils of growing up.
Its core members are Ceci Tomé and Brenna Kassis, two best friends whose love for each other informs every musical step they take. Their sound is nostalgically influenced by the early 2000s music of their childhood, full of no-skips anthems.
If you’re local, you may have caught them opening for Sir Chloe at Treefort Music Hall last year. Now, we’re stoked to have them play the fest. Keep your eye on this group, bc they’re going places!
ANDY FRASCO & THE U.N.
Andy Frasco and the U.N. is a wildly fun party group led by a man with a one-of-a-kind onstage presence. He plays the piano with his feet. Yeah, you read that right.
DIY renegades of the touring scene, you wanna see Andy Frasco when you’re in the mood for a jam band that takes you on a high-flying journey of the vulnerability of the human experience, all relayed through a wildly eclectic approach navigating funk, jazz, surf rock, blues, swing, gospel, reggae, exotica, and more with horn-blasted positivity and soulful power.
Get ready to party, my friends.
CECE COAKLEY
Cece Coakley is a rising singer-songwriter from Tennessee, blending indie pop, folk, and country influences into music that feels like a warm hug from grandma. Her songwriting is introspective, her vocals are laid-back, and her vibes are immaculate. She even has a fan substack called Cece’s Pizza Buffet, so you know she’s chill af, and she’s quickly made a name for herself as both a revered artist and songwriter in the indie music scene at just 23 years old.
Cece Coakley has spent most of her budding career on the road supporting artists such as Medium Build, Stephen Sanchez, Field Guide, and most recently Hazlett and Nell Mescal–and we can’t wait to have her in Boise! Her next EP is coming out in March, so we’ll have loads of good new tunes from her.
CURE FOR PARANOIA
Cure for Paranoia is a soul-infused hip-hop collective redefining the boundaries of modern rap with a sound inspired by legends like Outkast, The Roots, Odd Future and A Tribe Called Quest.
The musicians that make up this Dallas hip-hop group have their own bold energy and personal styles which would best be described as aggressively funky, a style that carries through to their music– designing its own brand of “trippy soul-infused hip-hop.”
Blending soulful instrumentals, razor-sharp lyricism, and infectious grooves with a mission to uplift, Cure for Paranoia isn’t afraid to speak their minds. You may have seen them on NPR’s Tiny Desk (three time finalists, y’all!)
Get ready to bounce along to Cure for Paranoia.
DJ MARO
Based in Denver, Colorado, Filipina-Irish DJ MARO blends dark, euphoric tech house with melodic techno and indie dance club energy to get your @$$ dancing! Combine the dynamic dancey grooves of Azzecca, the tech house command of Westend, the emotional melodic techno payoff of ARTBAT and add a dash of Latin + global flavor, and you’ve found yourself in MARO’s driving, cheeky, high-impact neighborhood.
Catch her traversing house & techno, creating moments of surprise throughout her sets. You’ll stay on your toes and you won’t be able to stop groovin.
She’s a DJ, producer, and self proclaimed liberation witch. Tbh I don’t think I need to say any more other than hell yeah, sister.
LEX LEOSIS
Lex Leosis is a jack-of-all-trades in the hip hop world, weaving slick lyricism with a hungry vocal tone and a range of genres from hip-hop to jazz, funk and pop. Lex Leosis is loud, opinionated, and constantly fighting for what she believes in. She got her humble beginning doing rap competitions and cyphers (aka collaborative improv performances), and now has her own hip-hop group called The Sorority who’ve received critical acclaim and made waves at the 2016 International Women’s Day Cypher.
She’s toured with Snotty Nose Rez Kids, collabed with loads of other female hip-hop artists, and her latest album drops the same month as Treefort so get ready, y’all! Lex breathes life into contemporary hip-hop and mesmerizes with her rapping abilities. Setting herself uniquely apart by holding space for various causes and using her platform to support other women and non-binary artists and creatives, Lex is not afraid to give props where it’s due.
ELEPHANT KIND
Elephant Kind are an Indonesian alt-pop band, formed in 2014, consisting of Bam Mastro, Bayu Adisapoetra, and Kevin Septanto. They became very well known in the Indonesian indie circuit, and decided to break out by moving from Jakarta to London in 2022–which boosted them into the world view. They went on to support bands like The XX and Franz Ferdinand, and they are here to put their mark on the world!
They stay true to their Indonesian roots, drawing sound and inspiration from what they know best. Elephant Kind make a bold return with More Time, their third studio album — a genre-defying exploration of transformation, longing, and the relentless pursuit of purpose in an ever-accelerating world. Written between the sprawling chaos of Jakarta and the introspective calm of London, More Time marks a defining chapter for the band. Self-produced and mixed, the record stands as a testament to resilience, creative growth, and unfiltered honesty.
