Meet the 2024 Yogafort artists:

MC YOGI

(Point Reyes, California)

MC YOGI is a recording artist, award winning author, and yoga teacher. He’s taught yoga and performed across the globe including headlining at Wanderlust festivals in over 30 US cities as well as Canada, Mexico, Japan, China and Korea. His unique style of music and teaching is joy filled and spiritually up lifting. His first three records were all #1 on the iTunes world music charts and his fifth album, Ritual Mystical, reached #1 on apple electronic music. In 2017 HarperOne published his memoir, Spiritual Graffiti which tells the story of his early years as a juvenile delinquent, living at a group home for at risk boys, to discovering yoga and launching his career as MC YOGI. When he is not on tour, MC YOGI teaches at his home studio Point Reyes Yoga, which he founded with his wife Amanda in 2001 (see the next artist below).

AMANDA GIACOMINI

(Point Reyes, California)

Amanda Giacomini is an artist and yoga teacher who is best known for her 10,000 Buddhas project. Inspired by ancient Buddhist artwork in the Ajanta caves in India, Amanda set out on a mission to paint 10,000 Buddhas. After a decade of painting, 10,000 Buddhas is a worldwide art project, including large scale murals, fine art paintings, works on paper, and textiles. Amanda is also a dedicated Yogini with over 20 years of of teaching experience. She has taught yoga all over the world at festivals, art museums, night clubs, and even the White House. She continues to teach weekly classes at Point Reyes Yoga in Northern California which she co-founded in 2001 with her husband MC YOGI. She has been featured in National Geographic, New York Magazine, Yoga Journal, Yoga International, Tricycle, Lion’s Roar, and Origin Magazine.

EAST FOREST

(Boise, Idaho)

Since 2008, East Forest has used music to guide listeners through modern journeys of deep introspection. The electro-acoustic project has remained primarily a solo effort (of Krishna-Trevor Oswalt), straddling the worlds of ambient, neoclassical, electronic and indie-pop.

Whether via his Music For Mushrooms: A Soundtrack For The Psychedelic Practitioner album series, his collaborative spoken word album with Ram Dass, or one of his communal “Ceremony Concerts,” East Forest’s goal has always been “building bridges and creating an approach that’s grounded, embodied, unarguable and for everybody.”

His latest album Music For The Deck of The Titanic is an homage to the infamous ship’s musicians who spent their last hours playing songs for passengers. Beautiful, poignant and extremely human, it’s a reprieve in a fast-moving world, built around an acoustic backbone of live drums, stand-up bass, earnest vocals and intimate piano.

SCOTT NICE

(Nevada City, Califorina)

World sounds soar over lush beats as Scott merges electronic with acoustic, dipping into Afro-Latin, tropical and middle eastern sounds in the process. Scott’s roots in Turntablism and Hip-Hop shine with his remix/mash-ups of classic tunes accompanied by live scratching to create a one-of-a-kind sonic journey. Since 2016 Scott has released 6 full length albums and countless remixes working with many amazing collaborators such as The Polish Ambassador, Liquid Bloom, Poranguí, Alex Serra, Wildlight, El Buho, Mose, Ayla Nereo, Uji, Yemanjo, Volo, DJ Taz Rashid, Equanimous, and many more.
