Storyfort has once again curated a masterful lineup of literary mainstays and up-and-coming authors for Treefort Music Fest 2025.

Bringing you engrossing panels, intimate readings, and immersive experiences–be captivated and take a journey into the rich worlds these authors create. We are thrilled to once again be bringing critically acclaimed authors, and some of the most influential emerging female writers in the nation.

ALL events are free and open to the public (no wristband required, but we highly recommend getting a 5-day pass). Note that some events may be inside a venue that is 21+ or have content that is not suitable for young children.

Meet this years Storyfort artists:

Laura Albert aka JT LeRoy

San Francisco, CA

Laura Albert’s latest book, a memoir of her life, is now being readied for publication. She has already won international acclaim for her fiction: Writing as JT LeRoy, she is the author of the best-selling novels Sarah and The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things – both now released also as audiobooks – and the novella Harold’s End. She is the subject of Jeff Feuerzeig’s feature documentary Author: The JT LeRoy Story and Lynn Hershman Leeson’s film The Ballad of JT LeRoy. She has written for The New York Times, The Forward, The London Times, Spin, Man About Town, Vogue, Film Comment, Interview, L’Équipe Sport&Style, Filmmaker, I-D, and others. A writer for the HBO series “Deadwood,” she also wrote the original script for Gus Van Sant’s Elephant and was the film’s Associate Producer. She has written the short films Radiance for Drew Lightfoot and ContentMode, and Dreams of Levitation and Warfare of Pageantry for Sharif Hamza and Nowness. She has spoken extensively and lectured about gender-variance and transgender issues for such sources as BOMB Magazine, Ireland’s Mindfield Literary Stage, dot429, the Utah Valley University Transgression Symposium, and others. She also serves as a board member of the Independent Living Resource Center of San Francisco.

Ariana Reines is a celebrated poet and Obie-winning playwright from Salem Massachusetts. Her newest books are Wave of Blood and The Rose.

Harris Lahti

Warwick, NY

Harris Lahti’s short stories have appeared in BOMB, Southwest Review, Ninth Letter, Blue Arrangements, Forever Mag, and elsewhere. His debut novel, Foreclosure Gothic, will be released June 10th, 2025 via Astra House Books. He edits fiction for FENCE and co-founded the new press, Cash 4 Gold. He paints houses for a living in New York’s Hudson Valley.

Francesca Kritikos

Chicago, IL

Francesca Kritikos is the author of the hybrid poetry-prose collections SWEET BLOODY SALTY CLEAN (Feral Dove, 2023) and Exercise in Desire (Vegetarian Alcoholic Press, 2022). Her works of poetry, fiction and nonfiction have been published in English, French and Greek in numerous online and print publications. She also serves as editor in chief of SARKA, a journal and publisher focused on works of the flesh. She is currently working on her first novel.

Brian Allen Carr

Indianapolis, IN

Brian Allen Carr is an Aspen Words finalist and a Wonderland Book Award Winner. His books include Opioid, Indiana, Bad Foundations, and Motherfucking Sharks.

Claire Hopple is the author of six books and the fiction editor at XRAY. Her stories have appeared in Wigleaf, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Forever Mag, and others.

Raegan Bird

Blacksburg, VA 

Raegan Bird lives in Blacksburg, Virginia, and co-runs the publishing project Blue Arrangements with her husband Nathan Dragon. Her fiction has been published by New York Tyrant, MuuMuu House, Joyland, and Blimp Biannual. She spent the Fall of 2024 as a resident at the prestigious Giancarlo DiTrapano Foundation for Literature & the Arts in Italy. She is currently working on her first novel about motherhood, agriculture, and the illusion of control.

Nathan Dragon

Blacksburg, VA 

Nathan Dragon is a writer whose work has appeared in NOON, The Baffler, Fence, Southwest Review, and New York Tyrant. He is the author of THE CHAMP IS HERE. Along with Reagan Bird, he is the co-founder and editor of the publishing project Blue Arrangements.

Megan Nolan

New York City, NY 

Megan Nolan is an Irish writer based in New York. Her debut novel Acts of Desperation was published in 2021, was an international bestseller and translated into fourteen languages. Her second, Ordinary Human Failings, was published in 2023 and was shortlisted for the Orwell prize for Political Fiction, the Nero Prize for Fiction, The Gordon Burn Prize, The Royal Society of Literature Encore Award, and longlisted for the Women’s Prize. She is currently at work on her first book of non-fiction to be published in 2026. We are thrilled to have Megan Nolan return to Storyfort this year!
