Boise, ID

Originally established as and becoming a prominent band in the Austin, TX music scene, Voidstrider, now based in Boise, ID, is a three-piece outfit composed of Brothers Clint Fischer (guitar, vocals) and R.J. Fischer (drums), as well as Whitney Fischer (bass, vocals). With a heavy throwback to 70’s and early 80’s rock and metal, Voidstrider conveys a “bold, raw style and big sound: the mark of a true heavy-hitting, no-nonsense rock band.” Born in Boise and raised in Colorado, Clint and R.J. established their musical roots in punk rock and hardcore, starting and playing in bands together as young teens. In 2004, they packed up the little they had and made the trek from Denver, CO to Austin. As a prelude to what would become Voidstrider, their band Strider, established in 2007, harnessed a melodic grit and tone that defined early 70’s and 80’s rock and metal, all while seamlessly melding a distinct, raw punk backbite. Combining classic rock and heavy metal with their deep convictions and faith, Voidstrider came to fruition in 2010. Whitney started playing with the band in 2012, and, after marrying R.J. in 2013, planted the steady (and final) leg of Voidstrider. Since then, they have shared the stage with the likes of Diamond Head, The Skull, Medusa, Josefus, Pentagram, The Velveteers, The Atomic Bitchwax, Telekinetic Yeti, The Well, Ruby the Hatchet, DUEL and many others. Their influences draw on legendary groups like Sir Lord Baltimore, Scorpions, Rush, Glass Harp, Highway Robbery, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Iron Maiden, Dio, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, UFO, Budgie, Thin Lizzy, Heart and The Resurrection Band. Finally, through sheer will and determination in lieu of constant setbacks and delays, Voidstrider is set to release their self-titled full length album in Spring 2024. Using only analog recording and mastering equipment to capture an authentic vintage sound, they hope their full length album will be well received by music fans and critics alike. Voidstrider continues to grow and evolve as a band while holding fast to their uniquely conceptualized sound, drawing on an energy that only family can emit.
