VERTTIGO
Edmonton, Canada
VERTTIGO exists in a space where distortion meets melody and shadows drift into the light. Their sound draws from the ethereal textures of ’80s goth and dream pop, anchored by the weight and density of ’90s shoegaze. Shaped by life in one of Canada’s northernmost capital cities, the music carries a sense of longing, melancholy, and isolation, echoing the prolonged darkness of winter.
Lyrically, VERTTIGO explores the darker side of the human condition, circling themes of love, death, loss, and rebirth, suspended in a state of vertigo. Stylistic touchstones include Slowdive, Beach House, and Cocteau Twins.
In a short span, VERTTIGO has shared the stage with an impressive list of artists, including Cherry Glazer, WAND, LA Witch, Tamaryn, Drab Majesty, Debby Friday, A Place To Bury Strangers, ACTORS, and Patriarchy.
Festival highlights include performances at JUNOfest, Sled Island, Big Winter Classic, Verboden, Purple City Festival, and Winterruption.
