The Friendship Quilt is a Seattle-based trio of musicians Marina DeMarco, Kayce Guthmiller, and Anna Preston. Their sound draws on a range of traditions, including North-American fiddle and folk song, country, singer-songwriter, western classical, and improvisatory music. They recently released their debut ep “the friendship quilt says hello,” a simple collection of recordings captured live from Kayce’s living room. The ep opens with an improvisation leading into a cover of Elizabeth Cotten’s “freight train,” followed by a handful of traditional folk songs and Friendship Quilt originals.
