The Congressional App Challenge

The Congressional App Challenge

The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide coding competition for middle and high school students in the U.S., hosted by the U.S. House of Representatives. It encourages students to learn to code by creating original apps and submitting them to their Member of Congress. The challenge aims to foster an interest in STEM, particularly computer science, and to promote a domestic pipeline of diverse tech talent across the nation.

Each participating congressional district selects a winning app, and the winners are invited to Washington, D.C., for the annual #HouseOfCode celebration, where they showcase their apps to lawmakers and the tech community. The competition is open to students of all skill levels and encourages creativity and innovation.

The 2025 Congressional App Challenge will launch on May 1st, 2025.
