Rebecca Gates is a U.S. based musician, artist, and curator. She has toured and released albums internationally as both a solo artist and band leader (The RG Consortium, The Spinanes) and appeared on recordings by a variety of artists including Willie Nelson, Elliott Smith, and The Decemberists. Her programs and work relating to issues of sound and space, listening, and artist's roles in their communities have been hosted by Mass MOCA, Georgetown University, Carnegie Mellon University, MOMA PS1, NYU and galleries in the United States and Europe. Gates co-curated Ballroom Marfa's sonic exploration of Land Art, "The Marfa Sessions", co-founded The Relay Project audiomagazine, and is founder of Sound and Associates, a collaborative culture and design consultancy.
