ARTIST’S BIO: Max is a California State Arts Scholar who received his BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA at Columbia University, where he was awarded the Faculty Selects prize for writing and nominated for the BAFTA Student Award. Selected screenings include SXSW Sydney, Palm Springs International ShortFest, Nashville Film Festival, Frameline International Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, New Hampshire Film Festival, NoBudge, and PBS. He is a Reykjavík Talent Lab alum and BendFilm: Basecamp fellow. His fiction has appeared in publications including Forever Magazine, Animal Blood, Burial Magazine, and Stimulant, among others. His debut feature film Eating the Ocean is currently in development.
