Mariah Kreutter

Mariah Kreutter is a fiction writer and occasional critic. Her work has appeared in The Drift, Joyland, Columbia Journal, The New York Times, The Cleveland Review of Books, and The Baffler, among other places. Her short story “My Mother’s Husbands” was shortlisted for the 2025 Disquiet Literary Prize for Fiction and nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She is an MFA candidate in Fiction at New York University, where she is a departmental fellow and an editor at the Washington Square Review. She also holds a BA in English from Yale University, where she was awarded the Elmore A. Willetts Prize for Fiction and the John Hubbard Curtis Prize for English. She previously worked as a film critic at Cultured and as an editor at The New York Times. She is working on her first novel.
