Visual imaginaries, sonorous atmospheres and emotional disfigurements converge in the neoclassical, incidental and experimental language in an intangible and unfathomable way in the sonic universe of José Tomás Molina.
Chilean composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, who stands out for his ability to fuse elements of classical music, jazz and electronics, creating a unique and personal style.
Born in Santiago, Chile, Molina began his musical career as a guitarist and composer for punk and experimental bands in Santiago's underground circuit. However, over time, he became interested in experimental, neoclassical music and the possibilities of the recording studio, which led him to explore new sounds and textures.
In 2014, Molina joins the record label LeRockPsicophonique, where he began to develop his career as a soloist and producer. Through this label, Molina has released several albums and collaborations, which have been very well received by specialized critics.
In addition to his solo work, Molina has participated in numerous audiovisual projects, such as films, television series, plays and dance. In the
year 2021, he won the Pulsar Award for Best Music for Audiovisuals, for his work in the independent short film "BLESSING" by the director Herman Choque.
One of the most outstanding aspects of Molina's music is his ability to create evocative and emotive atmospheres, which are supported by delicate melodies and complex harmonies. Molina is a versatile multi- instrumentalist, who plays piano, keyboards, drums, clarinet and other instruments, and uses sampling, looping and signal processing techniques to create his compositions.
Among his most outstanding works is the album "El Hombre De La Multitud", released in 2020, which fuses elements of classical music, jazz, live looping and electronics, and stands out for its neoclassical sensibility and harmonic richness.
After having a successful 2023 and 2024, participating in festivals like 'DUNK Fest' (Belgium) and 'Tronador' (Chile), the project is currently working on its new production which will premiere alongside of treefort fest. Additionally, there is a launch tour planned for the central and southern regions of Chile, EEUU, and other countries.
