ARTIST’S BIO: Theodore Collatos is a writer & director known for subverting the norm, confounding expectation, extreme intimacy, sidewinding family life, cross-country sociology, and worship of felines. His television proof-of-concept pilot, “Palookaville,” won the Grand Jury Prize at Slamdance, had its international premiere at Raindance, played 20+ festivals, and is currently being pitched and developed. His feature documentary debut, “Queen Of Lapa,” won Grand Jury Prizes from NewFest, Sidewalk, Flickers Rhode Island, Wicked Boston, PhilaLatino, with notable screenings at the Goteborg Film Festival "Focus on Brazil" spotlight, Antenna & Sheffield Doc/Fest(s), played 50+ festivals, and played theatrically across the United States. His feature dramatic thriller, “Tormenting The Hen,” won the Duncan-Williams Screenplay Award and played theatrically in New York and Chicago. His hybrid feature “Dipso,” had its premiere at EntreVues Belfort, and played theatrically in New York and New Orleans. A two-time finalist for Creative Capital, his other cinematic work has been featured on Short of the Week, Omeleto, Marie Claire, MIC, and No Film School. His hobbies include programming and contributing editorially to Talkhouse Film and Filmmaker Magazine.
