Hurtado is a Salt Lake City-based indie rock band known for their emotionally candid lyrics, nostalgic guitar textures, and raw, bedroom-born energy. Formed as a solo project for singer-songwriter Sam Hurtado in late 2021, the band delivers a heartfelt blend of lo-fi indie and 90s emo revival, wrapped in earnest storytelling and jangly melodies.
The band's debut full-length EP, "Cavalier," was released in April 2025, earning underground attention for its diary-style vulnerability and tight DIY production. "Cavalier" was distributed by DIY labels Candlepin Records and Pleasure Tapes.
