Since late 2023, Boise’s own Hudson Powder Company has experienced a rise in the local Boise scene. This is owing in part to their musical talents - no doubt - but also to their engrossing on-stage behavior and undeniable chemistry. Their music? Hard to nail down; sort of a cross between country and something more atmospheric. More eerie. On a good night they sound like what would happen if Sturgill Simpson, Kevin Parker, and Flea somehow formed a band. Packed dingy basement? Madison Square Garden? Doesn’t matter, Hudson Powder Company sets the tone. HPC consists of Alexis Galvan on drums, Cooper Lowry on vocals and guitar, Doug Rudeen on guitar, and Ricky Jones on bass.
