Floral Tattoo elects to use LOUD as a stand-in for genre. Beginning as a humble solo project of Alex Anderson, the Seattle-based band has increased in numbers and in scope with each consecutive release. In 2025 the six members of Floral Tattoo bring a torrential sound that is as quick to electrify as it is to soothe. In a given song you may hear influences ranging from My Bloody Valentine, to Animal Collective, to Stereolab, to Jeff Rosenstock. Floral Tattoo’s music has been featured in Pitchfork and Brooklyn Vegan. They have been the weekly artist for Everything is Noise and listed as one of 10 bands ‘reimagining shoegaze’ by Alternative Press. In July 2024 they played a sold out benefit show at the Vera Project in Seattle for the Olympia Queer Youth Non-Profit ‘Pizza Klatch’, joining Will Toledo of Car Seat Headrest as his backing band. Floral Tattoo plays loud, they are loud about Trans rights and Trans liberation, and they are going to stay loud until the end.
