Ella Rae Cole

Bozeman, MT

A traveling songstress hailing from the small mountain town of Bozeman, Montana, USA, Ella Rae Cole draws inspiration from the vast nature of her home, as well as the landscape of her inner world of emotion. Her songs of love, sorrow, and abstract dreams are intimate in their raw vulnerability, creating a unique and heartfelt storytelling experience for audiences around the world. Recognizable by her warm, haunting voice, guitar plucking in alternate tunings, Bossa Nova-esque rhythms, and folk roots, listeners may be reminded of artists such as Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, and Feist.

Ella’s debut EP, Willow, was recorded and produced in 2018 by Paul Durham (of the band Black Lab) in his home studio in Bozeman. Later released in 2022 after fundraising for post-production costs through a successful Kickstarter, Willow has connected audiences at festivals, bars, and campfires from Thailand to Georgia, to Estonia, and across Montana.

Her current project, a full-length debut solo album consisting of thirteen songs, is in the final stages of production and aims to be shared in February 2026. Ella is currently based in Bozeman and travels around Montana and the west playing her music to sold-out venues, outdoor folk festivals, and empty bars alike. With 2026 on the horizon, plans for a European tour are coming together!
