Effy K is an Oregon-born, Boise based local DJ. She has always been a music lover at heart so it was only a matter of time until she would ask her husband Maksym, an already established DJ, to teach her how to mix. She first learned how to DJ in 2010 and got her first DJ residency in 2013 and she’s been playing locally ever since. She is currently a resident at The Balcony Club, Amsterdam Lounge and Club Karma as well as a former Crowbar resident. She has had recurring guest sets at Space Banana, Strange Love, Hap Hap Lounge and Treefort Music Hall. Her favorite styles to play are Deep, Progressive, Tech and Bass House to UK garage, Jungle and DnB.
She has opened for many great names such as LP Giobbi, Miss Dre, Neil Frances, Snake Hips, Walker & Royce, Dances, Kyle Walker, Mz Worthy, Tara Brooks, Taiki Nulight, OMNOM, Morgan Madison, Le Youth, 5am, Beat Kitty, Spoken Word and Cyberia Lain. She has also played many events hosted by local collectives such as We Out Here, Duck Club, Kaleidisco, OG Persona, Altitude Lounge, Boise Burners Alliance, Charlatan, GRRL Rave, The Funky Kind and Radio Boise.
She’s been featured at special events and festivals like Sensory Illumination, Pussy Cat Ball, Altitude Oasis, ATTENTION, Women By Women, St. Luke’s FitOne, Organic Events SV: Girls Just Wanna Have Fundamental Rights, ILLUMiBRATE, Idaho Decomp, Fright Fest, Sun Valley Wellness Festival, Treefort and Yogafort. She has also played special events at The Reef, The Neurolux, The Shredder, The Knitting Factory, Argyros Performing Arts Center, Payette Brewing, Lost Grove Brewing, Xanadu, Jump Center, Treasure Valley Skate, Lounge at the End of the Universe, Sage Yoga & Wellness, Boise Hare Krishna Temple, Zee’s Rooftop, Riverside Hotel and The Boise Train Depot.
