Ed Ferrier is a philosopher of technology at Boise State University. He is interested in the societal impacts of emerging technologies. A particular area of interest is whether we should attribute human-like characteristics, including intelligence, rationality, understanding, self-awareness, responsibility and consciousness to LLMs, and whether it would be good for us if LLMs had some (or all) of these.
