Charlie is a veteran songwriter with over 25 years of live music under his belt. He was raised in the Pacific Northwest and has musical roots in the Midwest where he spent his late teens and early twenties playing music in St. Louis, MO. Sutton has spent the past decade making music, raising his beautiful children and exploring the great outdoors around Boise, Idaho. Since relocating to his home state of Idaho, he has released an EP and a full length album (Whiskey Rain) with his former band Curtis/Sutton & the Scavengers and then subsequently released a solo album (Primitive Songs For Modern Times) on Junkerdash Records in 2020.
In 2022 Sutton released an 8 song folk EP (Trout Takes) featuring all the members of his band—Charlie & The Changelings. Trout Takes was released in spring of 2022, receiving rave reviews from such music blogs as Saving Country Music, Americana Highways, Lonesome Highway and Americana Uk. In January of 2023 Sutton released a full length western folk-rock album, Phantom Drifter, with his band Charlie & The Changelings. Charlie is currently in the studio completing his latest EP, a collection of songs about high strangeness and the paranormal.
