Baby Weight is a DJ, producer, and label boss from Washington, D.C. An industry veteran with over a decade under her belt, her genre bending sound, dynamic DJ sets, and advocacy has earned her the respect of artists like Fatboy Slim, Walker & Royce, The Blessed Madonna, Claude VonStroke, Chris Lorenzo, Shiba San, Justin Martin, LP Giobbi, Kevin Knapp, Wreckno, and Idris Elba among others. In 2017, she started the record label Chub Rub which she uses to showcase emerging sounds from across the house music spectrum. In 2019, she released her first body of work, 'Phases,' which charted on Beatport's Top 10. In 2020, she came out as transgender citing a need to address her transition as an artist as well as in her personal life. In 2021, Baby Weight was featured in Mixmag’s ‘Impact’ series. Since then, she has appeared on BBC Radio 1, Diplo's Revolution on SiriusXM, BBC Radio 6, and performed at renowned festivals such as Lightning in a Bottle, Electric Daisy Carnival, Hard Summer, Dirtybird Campout, Lights All Night, and Firefly. In 2022, Baby Weight released “House Princess” featuring Karnage Kills to commercial and critical acclaim including a feature in Calvin Klein’s Pride campaign for that year. In 2023, she was listed as an 'Artist to Watch' and nominated for 'Breakthrough DJ of the Year' by DJ Mag. 2023 also saw the release of "Slay 4 Me" via U.K. label He.She.They which had heavy rotation on R1 Dance and was prominently featured on RuPaul's Werq the World tour. A colorful artist with no signs of slowing down, Baby Weight is a rising star and dance music darling to keep an eye on.
