Amba Stapleton
Heredia, CR
Amba came to yoga through dance, music, and the early influence of her grandmother, who modeled the healing power of a connected body and mind. A practicing yogini for the past 50 years, she spent seven years as a resident at the Kripalu Ashram before co-founding and directing the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica for 25 years. With more than five decades as a yoga educator, she brings a rare blend of science, mysticism, humor, and heartfelt humanity to her teaching.
An avid student of neuroscience, neurobiology, and exercise physiology, Amba loves exploring how scientific insight meets lived experience and the subtler, unseen forces that shape life. Her classes are known for their joy, emotional intelligence, and deep respect for the body as the entryway into one’s multidimensional nature. Above all, she inspires others to trust the teacher within by offering her own full, authentic humanness.
