Venus Nadya, professionally known as Aja, is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary artist, burlesque performer, DJ, and cultural leader from Brooklyn, New York. Rising to prominence through RuPaul’s Drag Race, All Stars, and Legendary, she has built a career that extends far beyond television, earning recognition as one of the few Drag Race alumni to achieve sustained mainstream success across music, performance, and cultural advocacy.
Aja is a critically acclaimed recording artist whose work has been praised by Forbes, Rolling Stone, and Billboard for its sharp lyricism, distinctive flow, and cultural impact. Her career includes major brand collaborations with H&M, Adidas, and Taco Bell, and high-visibility campaigns such as a month-long Times Square billboard feature.
Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in ballroom culture. Venus began walking Kiki balls in New York City in 2006, and in 2025 was deemed Legendary in the mainstream ballroom scene for Runway. She is a member of the iconic House of Miyake-Mugler. These foundations inform her work, which centers visibility, embodied storytelling, and the lived experience of Black and Latino trans communities.
Currently, her creative focus is on burlesque, being a showgirl and DJing, where she creates immersive, audience-driven experiences shaped by nightlife, fashion, and community. Since 2017, she has headlined and sold out venues across the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
