Patrick Watson + Boise Phil

Sat 3/23 7:30-9:00pm | Wristband or Ticket Required | All Ages

For this special Treefort performance, Patrick Watson will be accompanied by the Boise Philharmonic, while Ballet Idaho performs Lauren Edson’s choreography onstage.

Patrick Watson is a singer, pianist, composer and frontman based in Montreal. He invents uncanny musical landscapes, harmoniously mixing organic elements and electronic textures, cacophonic rock songs and pristine ballads, all held together by his omnipresent voice.

The Boise Philharmonic, our local classical symphony orchestra, features beloved works, acclaimed guest artists, Pops concerts, special events, and community events across the greater Treasure Valley.

While Patrick Watson and Boise Phil perform, Ballet Idaho will perform live on stage, bringing a visually intriguing performance art element and impressive athleticism to this incredible musical collaboration.

Ballet Idaho commissioned The Art of Losing as a dance film created for its digital season in 2021. The concept and choreography were created by Lauren Edson of LED, in collaboration with filmmaker Quinn Wharton and support from Frontrunner Films and The Morrison Center for the Performing Arts. We are thrilled to revive three dance excerpts from the film, featuring the music of Patrick Watson, for a live performance with Patrick and members of the Boise Phil. This is a rare opportunity to experience Patrick Watson’s gorgeous and expansive sound embodied by Edson’s dynamic movement through the talents of the Ballet Idaho cast.

LED

Sat 3/23 6:20-7:00pm | Wristband or Ticket Required | All Ages

Don’t miss the newest creation by LED, An Arm and A Leg. The piece playfully dives into the things we think we “know,” and asks the question, what if we really know nothing at all? Incorporating live, original music by LED’s in-house band, jaw-dropping physicality by Lauren Edson and the LED dancers and stunning projection design by Kyle Morck, this work lies somewhere between cotton-candy clouds and a torrential downpour.

Shaped by the artistic vision of husband and wife co-founders, Lauren Edson and Andrew Stensaas, LED weaves movement, original music, captivating stories and stunning visuals into cinematic experiences. Proudly based in Boise, Idaho, LED is a dance company, a music project, a film studio and so much more. Named by Dance Magazine as, “25 to Watch” and described as, “virtuosic-eye candy that invites the audience into another world,” LED continues to redefine what an artistic encounter can look like and is a significant part of putting Boise on the map as a cultural hub.
