Meet the Artfort 2024 artists:

PRECIOUS

(Boise, Idaho)

Boise artist Chris Callor aka Precious is bringing a 50 foot installation to Artfort! Do you remember Spirographs? Unlike those 3 inch diameter geometric swirls on a flat piece of paper, “G String” is a 60 inch diameter x 50 foot long, 3 dimensional spiral-graphical wave of kinetic energy. A rotating filament is illuminated with stroboscopic lighting effects to create a deceivingly mesmerizing visual spectacle. When supervised, G String is a giant toy that allows participants to manipulate its various portals. Did we mention it’s wearable art? G String’s third eye adornment accessory offers a whole new look.

INFLATABILL

(Santa Rosa, California)

Bill Kennedy aka Inflatbill, makes balloons. He will have two installations in Julia Davis Park.

You’ll see Clouds in the trees above the main entrance pathway. Originally made for the Bellevue Art Museum outside Seattle, he has shown these colorful Clouds at the Blink light festival in Cincinnati, Red Wing Roots music festival in Virginia, Pickathon music festival outside Portland, and the Lagunitas Beer Circus in Chicago and Los Angeles.

His latest public artwork, Petalous, will be installed on the historic street lights around the Gene Harris Bandshell. He designed this series of petals to attach to existing street poles, instantly transforming them into giant glowing flowers. The petals made their debut at the Napa Lighted Art Festival, and were featured at the 2023 Pickathon Music Festival.

BRETT PERRY

(Boise, Idaho)

Brett will premiere the first episode of his solo show entitled “Non Dom”. Through dance experiences and storytelling, Non Dom explores our relationship with our under appreciated and non dominant side of the body.

BOISE CIRCUS GUILD

(Boise, Idaho)

Boise Circus Guild is a non-profit 501(3)c organization based in Boise, ID founded in October of 2018. They are committed to supporting the circusartists in Idaho and growing the local circus community, while producing shows and performing at events around Idaho as well as providing educational support to community members. They radically spread joy at every opportunity, strive to celebrate all facets of circus and the performing arts, and bring circus to the forefront in the Treasure Valley. Whether your a new artist or a seasoned professional, there’s a place for you in circus. Circus is not only contagious, but it make you fill like a kid again and unlocks that wonder of childhood we all remember.

SECTOR SEVENTEEN

(Boise, Idaho)

Sector Seventeen is an artist group specializing in aerosol realism. Derived from graffiti lineage, Elms and Mawk One utilize themes from that culture to inform their figurative work. Sector Seventeen will be creating a live mural during Treefort Music Fest.

PROJECT FLUX

(Boise, Idaho)

Project Flux is a performing arts nonprofit organization that fosters an environment where artist can work together, without hierarchy, to create experiences. It takes the time to transform non traditional spaces into immersive environments that break the fourth wall between performer and audience member.

TROPICO FM PRESENTS: RESONANCIA: LATINX COLORS AND STORIES AT ARTFORT 2024

(Boise, Idaho)

Step into the vibrant world of local Latinx artists at Treefort Music Fest 2024. Tropico FM, Boise’s newest (& second) community radio station, is hosting an art show featuring a diverse range of styles and narratives that collectively offer a captivating glimpse into the rich tapestry of Latinx art. From bold expressions of identity to nuanced explorations of cultural heritage, each piece contributes to a visually dynamic and culturally resonant experience that celebrates the multifaceted perspectives within the Latinx artistic landscape.

Participating artists include: Maria Ayala, Marianna Jimenez Edwards, Miguel Almeida, Bobby Gaytan, Kristin Guerrero, Mónica Galván, Pedazos De Mi Clay (Mayra Ortiz), Alexa Maldonado, Angel Ramirez, Quetzel Gutierrez, Bad Apple (Lupita Garcia), and Marissa Zamudio.

SECOND BRAIN

(Boise, Idaho)

Second Brain is a group of Boise, Idaho based multimedia artists – Pen Roson, Gus Marsden, & Rafferty Clark – who combine their individual perspectives and skill sets to create otherworldly immersive art installations. Second Brain has completed two installation projects since its founding in 2022. The Renormalization Point in Garden City opened its doors December 2022, and pulled attendees inside a seemingly-normal domestic home. Inside, however, they would find the house had merged with an interstellar vessel. The story of the house was told through exploration of journal notes and schematics. Attendees could interact with the melded spaceship by holding the leaves of plants, which were connected electronically to digital synthesizer parameters. Together, friends and strangers alike were able to collaborate on piece of music simply by touching leaves.

The second installation was commissioned by Treefort Music Fest to transform an old school into a unique venue experience. The Atrium at Old School was a realm between worlds, a place of rest for festival goers to escape the weather and enjoy catered music programming. Part of this project included an album written and later performed within the space.

More artists and events will be announced soon!
