Riley Teahan is an interdisciplinary artist excited by intimacy, seeing, and the gifts of nature. She loves to explore and intersect different mediums, especially performance, film, design, and sculpture. Raised in the desert of New Mexico she found home in the theatre. This love guided her to New York City where she became a student of collaboration and directed, devised, and designed plays, performances, and festivals. After moving to New Orleans in 2016 she found herself immersed in a community of powerful women and independent artists. She picked up a camera for the first time for 6: An Unbirth, a visual album she co-created with Natalita. Iterations of this project have been shown at the New Orleans and Montana Film Festivals and won first place at the Ogden Museum’s Louisiana Contemporary show. Since then she's continued to make experimental films and music videos, video installations, and sculptures. Her first solo show Passage opened in November 2021 at Onelove Studio in New Orleans. She is currently enrolled in fashion school at the Material Institute; she designs and makes clothes and jewelry. Riley is excited to debut her next collaboration with Natalita, Winter in Pluto, an experimental musical myth about love, and for all that is to come. www.rileyteahan.com
