Plaid Panties is a punk band from Boise, Idaho drawing inspiration from the riot grrrl movement. This trio combines punchy lyrics, energetic drumming, and dynamic riffs that result in an aggressive, feminine sound. Plaid Panties began in January 2023 when Cora Aldridge (Vox/Guitar), met with Nika Kovis (Vox/Bass) to begin a band intertwining angry riot grrl and alternative grunge pop, finalizing the maximization of their joint slay with drummer Sierra Duarte (Drums). Songwriters Nika and Cora pull from their long documented catalogues of angst (aka their diaries of girlhood) to write songs about relationships, religion, social issues, and being a feminist in the modern age. Bands of influence include PJ Harvey, Amyl and The Sniffers, The Breeders, My Chemical Romance and Destroy Boys, to even acts such as Halsey, Fiona Apple, and Hayley Williams.
