Pete Risse is Associate Dean, for Boise State University’s Division of Extended Studies. He has been in his role since 2010 and provides leadership and oversight of rapidly growing Community Outreach and engagement programs which include adult focused degree programs, rural education, military education, community college transfer programs, and Professional and Continuing Education including K-12 Teacher PD and Idaho Onramp. Prior to his arrival at Boise State, Pete was Director of the University of Alaska Anchorage Chugiak-Eagle River Campus where he was responsible for academic programs, workforce and professional development programs, and community engagement. Pete holds degrees in biology and adult education and was a member of the faculty for UAA’s Bachelor of Science in Technology program and is adjunct faculty for Boise State’s Bachelor of Applied Science Program. Pete is passionate about his team’s mission to extend access beyond traditional boundaries by delivering educational opportunities that help build the social and economic vitality of Idaho.
