Prof. Dr. Miriam Meckel is an award-winning journalist, professor, and entrepreneur. She is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ada learning, the European community platform for organizational development personal growth, and has held a professorship in communication management at the University of St. Gallen since 2005. Previously, she was the first female Editor in Chief and Publisher of WirtschaftsWoche, Germany’s leading business magazine. For several years, she worked in communications consulting at the Brunswick Group and established its Berlin office. For one legislative period, she worked as a government spokesperson and State Secretary for Media and International Affairs in the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia's Prime Minister. In her work as a journalist and scientist, she received the Cicero speaker award in the science category as well as the Ernst Schneider Prize for business journalism. She regularly interviews Heads of State, CEOs and other high-profile figures, such as Angela Merkel, Christine Lagarde, Queen Maxima, Ivanka Trump, Sheryl Sandberg or Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Miriam has published numerous books, including the autobiographical best-seller "Letter to My Life," which inspired a 2016 award-winning film. She has accepted engagements as a guest professor at Harvard University, Singapore Management University, University of Vienna and Fordham University.
