MILLY

Music

Los Angeles, CA

MILLY began as the recording project of multi-instrumentalist, Brendan (B. Reid) Dyer in 2018 with some home recordings after the dissolution of his first band, Furnsss in Bristol, Connecticut. Influences for early MILLY included groups like Yo La Tengo and Swirlies. Once Dyer picked up and moved to Los Angeles, several live lineups were pasted together and shows followed. After signing to Dangerbird Records in 2019, the band went out on their first US tour supporting shoegaze legends Swervedriver. A couple of EPs (Our First Four Songs + Wish Goes On) and 1 LP (Eternal Ring) all of which were produced by Corey Coffman of Gleemer, were released and met with fan and critic acclaim alike. Warm layers of slack and shamble that call back to a language they speak quite fluently (Pavement, Duster, Hum). 2022 and 2023 saw the band on tour with likeminded acts such as waveform*, Teethe, and Bedlocked (to name a few) and the band released an EP of Sebadoh covers in the spring of 2023 and a new song entitled Grab The Wheel in October of 2023... a power pop gem that channels the feel good vibe of Teenage Fanclub paired with the hypnotizing synths of The Rentals. Grab The Wheel is the first of many from their session with producer Sonny Diperri, (DIIV, Julie, Narrow Head) that the band are slated to roll out in 2024. MILLY's current lineup consists of Dyer (Vocals, Guitars), along with Yarden Erez (Bass/Vocals), Conner Frankel (Drums), and live guitarist Nico Moreta.
