Maria Ayala

Boise, ID
Maria Ayala, local visual artist, loves combining her painting and sewing practices. Consequently, Ayala has found herself creatively exploring a space where “art” and “craft” overlap. It’s common for her to seek out and utilize used materials, transforming them into works that reflect on themes of grief, healing, culture, mysticism and more. Ayala lives and works in Boise and draws great inspiration from artists like Margarita Cabrera, Guadalupe Maravilla and Zoe Buckman.
