Gem State is experimental folk duo Tim Andreae and JR Rivero Kinsey. Andreae plays the strings and sings while Kinsey sings and keeps the time on drums and with footwork and hand claps. We are our own eclectic mix of styles. The songs, which we hope are evocative, range from acoustic folk to something heavier and electric. In our newer work, we've been drawn towards simple but hypnotic rhythms and hope to spark a lively vibe and inspire others in their musical explorations.
