Dogs on Shady Lane

Dogs on Shady Lane

hometown: Providence, RI / Brooklyn, NY

🏠 Providence, RI / Brooklyn, NY Dogs on Shady Lane makes indie rock music for Pisces. The Providence-and-Brooklyn-based project blends elements of alt-folk and slow-core; their sound compared to the likes of Faye Webster, Slow Pulp, and Soccer Mommy. Songwriter and guitarist Tori Hall began Dogs on Shady Lane in 2018 as an independent creative exploration. The project has since grown to include Evan Weinstein (guitar/synth/vox), Calder Mansfield (bass/vox), and Grace Goss (percussion) as of 2020. The 4-piece band is known to create a dynamic yet intimate sonic live show – playing shows frequently in both RI and NY scenes. Their 2024 EP, β€œThe Knife,” has a dynamic, genre-bending sound. Contrasting some of their earlier works, the 4-song release includes heavy guitars and moody synth lines, juxtaposed with moments of intimate vocal melodies over subtle textural soundscapes.
