Classtronaut

Boise, ID
Classtronaut is a neo-psychedelic yacht-pop group - whatever the hell that is. It’s basically a few guys, Gus Curry, Brian Fortson, Andrew Craig, and Casey Dudley blending retro synths with modern pop sensibilities, creating a unique auditory journey that Loudness Magazine describes as “a multilayered rich psychedelic production, reminiscent of Pond and Tame Impala.” Occasionally they throw in a guitar or a harmonica, but that’s pretty much it.
Coming off their latest releases, including Songs From Hospital Rooms, Chemical Reaction, and remixes for Logan Lynn’s Kill For Love and Where the Sun Don’t Shine (Kill Rock Stars), Classtronaut is taking over television. Well, sort of. You can catch one of their songs in the new Revry TV series, Unconventional.
What else? Oh… The press likes them. Here’s what they’re saying.
“A killer introduction to a band that’s aiming high. And if this is what they’re capable of now, I can’t wait to see where their spaceship goes next.” - Indie Boulevard
“Classtronaut are set to go from strength to strength as a must-watch band with a compelling sound.” - Plastic Magazine (UK)
“With ethereal production and a heartfelt backstory, this track solidifies Classtronaut’s place as one of the most compelling synthpop bands emerging from the Northwest.” - Cage Riot
“A dazzling assortment of retro-friendly synth-bass pulses, brass-friendly tones, and mellow keys build into a “grand adventure,” lyrical commencement — fondly resembling a cross between Cut Copy and Tame Impala in the vocal entry.” - Obscure Sound
“A standout in the resurgence of disco and synthpop.” - Apricot Magazine
“Gee Whiz, is simply irresistible. This is one of those songs that hook you from the first note and somehow keep getting better with every listen.” - Beach House
“It feels like a time machine that transports you to the era of funky retro wave aesthetics and neon colors” - Lost In The Manor
“Easily one of the best 4 minutes I’ve heard in a while.” - Cheers To The Vikings
