Cab Ellis

Cab Ellis

hometown: Brooklyn, NY

At the first gentle guitar strum, the seven piece genre-bending rock band Cab Ellis soaks in mere seconds of stillness from the crowd before doing what they do every time: uniting a room of strangers into one anarchic being. Their silhouettes across the stage command attention, and the music that follows demands movement from every direction. The group features Connor Abeles (frontman), Devlin Tenney (lead guitar), Josh Uguccioni (bass), Chris Cotton (drums), Olin Clark (guitar), Greg Carleton (saxophone), and Gabe Fraivillig (trombone). Connor front-flips into the pit, Devlin dives on top of them, and the brass section looms over the front row– you can’t escape it and you wouldn’t want to. Before sparking a buzz and building a rabid fanbase around NYC, Cab Ellis originated as a solo project in Hagerstown, Maryland. Connor rapped over YouTube beats in his family’s computer room and eventually released the self-produced debut album “Nighttime OCD” in 2020 alongside friends. After moving to Brooklyn, New York from years spent in Los Angeles, Cab Ellis released their sophomore album “The East Coast Hold On” with producer Gordon Raphael (The Strokes) in 2022. The 11 track record explores topics of isolation, routine and transformation, and features iPhone recordings of real-life noises from the world around Connor, constructing an entirely unique sound. The band completed their first tour in 2023, playing fan-favorites from both records to 11 cities across the United States. Their third album is set to release in Spring 2025.
