Foul Weather is a space jazz band from Boise, Idaho that recently hit the road with Youth Lagoon on a Northwest mini-tour. The trio creates a cosmic storm that transports the listener through the loungey, slinky Sixties and the freaky new wave synths found deep in the Eighties. The band consists of Jeremy Stewart, Danny Kerr and Logan Hyde. The trio features Stewart’s churning keys paired with Kerr and Hyde’s afrobeat/jazz-informed rhythm section.
“Youth Lagoon guitarist Logan Hyde’s swift, muscular drumming provided propulsion for Daniel Kerr’s weaving basslines and Jeremy Stewart’s fluid, melodic synthesizer solos. The group’s smooth melodies and mildly funky grooves built in intensity as the set progressed.” – Boise Weekly
These Boise-based instrumental space aliens have been busy this year — they debuted their work at a live show with Haunted Summer in January, played Treefort 2015, opened for Gardens & Villa this Spring, plus a string of dates with Youth Lagoon and they released their first album Soft Opening (WavePOP Records) in August.
