Selby Jenkins (1998) is a dancer, choreographer, and performing artist based in Idaho and Belgium. She gained her foundational dance training in Boise, Idaho where she was born and raised, later kickstarting her professional career through local and national companies such as: Idaho Dance Theater, LED, Project Flux, and WHYTEBERG. Through these companies, Selby has performed at Treefort Music Festival, MING Studios, Boise Dance Co-op, and throughout the state of Idaho. From 2017-2018, Selby studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance under the direction of Summer Lee Rhatigan, and simultaneously apprenticed and performed for the Margaret Jenkins (no-relation) Dance Company for their anniversarial site-specific work Toward 45. She continued her dance studies in Brussels, Belgium at the Performance Art and Research Training Studios (P.A.R.T.S.) under the direction of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, achieving a Professional Bachelor’s in Dance in 2022, to which she also carries the title of Bachelors of Art. Selby has additionally performed in works by the following artists: Trisha Brown, Tamara Cubas, Brendan Duggan, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Alex Ketley, Moya Michael, Ohad Nahirin, and Tom Weinberger, to name a few. Selby currently resides in Brussels, Belgium, where she is a freelance performer and artist. She is currently working with choreographer Arkadi Zaides for the project Necropolis, and is a part of Projet Géo, a collective of artists currently in residence at a retirement home in Forest, Belgium.
